Editorial
Abstract
This editorial introduces the inaugural issue of Digital Humanities Intersections (DHI) and reflects on the emergence of Digital Humanities in India as both an intellectual and infrastructural project. It traces the growth of DH research, teaching, and collaborative initiatives in the country while emphasising the need for sustainable, open, and multilingual scholarly infrastructures. The editorial further situates the journal within broader debates on knowledge infrastructures, open scholarship, inclusivity, and epistemic inequality in the digital age. Introducing the contributions in this issue, it highlights work on Critical AI Literacy, TEI, posthumanism, community archives, heritage preservation, and computational epistemologies, positioning DHI as a platform for ongoing conversations on Digital Humanities in India and across wider Global South contexts.
